Gear Rental

Everett youth hockey booster club has a limited supply of rental gear for our members. We have sizes 4 through 8 available. The rental program is ideal for skaters who are planning to play in the beginners, 6u and 8u programs.

All of us can remember the beginning stages of hockey. It can be confusing and costly. The rental cost is $40 per year which is a great price. This will ease the cost of hockey, especially at a young age, when kids grow out of equipment so quickly!

Rental Equipment Bag includes the following:
Shin guards, hockey pants, elbow pads, shoulder pads, helmet, and gloves. We have sticks available for smaller children. Since it is important to get the proper size stick, we cannot guarantee we will have your child's size.

Equipment not provided:
Skates (but can be borrowed each week for practices at the arena counter), neck guard, hockey socks, mouth guard, athletic supporter [jock/jill] and jersey. For beginners a jersey and hockey socks are required the rest is optional. These can all be purchased at play it again sports in Lynnwood, or at our arena hockey shop. As a booster club member you will receive a discount to both these hockey shops. Just let them know you're a booster club member.

How to get your child geared up.
You will need to fill out the application and pay the $40 in full. If you are not a booster club member you will need to join since this is a service for our members.* Then the booster club rental gear coordinator will contact you to setup an appointment to meet up to gear up your child.

Returning gear.
We hold return/exchange sessions throughout the year to "size-up" a pieces of equipment that no longer fit, are no longer in acceptable condition or no longer needed. You can contact the booster club rental gear coordinator at any time with questions.

See you at the Rink!!!

  • Jock straps or pelvic protectors
  • Shin pads
  • Socks (outer socks)
  • Pants
  • Skates
  • Neck guard
  • Shoulder pads
  • Elbow pads
  • Jersey
  • Helmet with mouth guard
  • Gloves
  • Stick

Other useful information

  • Arrive at the rink at least 30 minutes before ice time
  • Check all your gear before you leave home. If your child is missing any equipment he or she won’t be allowed on the ice
  • Have your child go to the bathroom before you start getting dressed
  • Open the skate as wide as possible when taking them off and putting on
  • Put on fresh, dry socks just before putting on skates
  • Make a small tab on the end of the sock tape so it is easy to find when trying to take off the tape
  • Hang gear out to dry when you get home. Don't put gloves or skates over a heater vent or leave your gear in a cold car for more than 30 minutes.
  • Febreeze is a hockey parent's best friend (gear stinks!)
  • Put an identifying mark on every piece of equipment
  • Put a piece of tape with your player's name written clearly on it on the front of their helmet, especially for those first few practices.
  • Take advantage of as much ice time as you can get(the more ice time they get the better they get)
  • Parents and siblings in the dressing room areas should not wear open toed shoes
  • Make friends with others. You will be at the rink with everyone from here on out
  • Stay out of Hockey Drama. It's a game... they are kids!
  • Be respectful to others including the referees. It sets a good example for the kids
  • When in doubt on gear fitment, gear quality, taping techniques, etc. - ask a someone...we have all been there
